diffrence between rocket and missile

Rocket is just a vehicle that propels by releasing some type of masses generally hot gases produced by internal combustion. It works on newtons 3rd law which says for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
  Missile itself is a rocket which also includes a payload for mass destruction.
